New Years 05/06 Polar Bear Swim

After the traditional new years party at the Toews, a bunch of us went to Cultus Lake (Chilliwack, BC) for the also traditional polar bear swim. I didnt swim because I had to take pictures, atleast that was my excuse!
A big man!

The victorious emerge!

Tim has had enough!

Has Andy lost his glasses or his marbles???

Soon after Phil's swim, he seems awfully eager to start a fire. But, not just any fire...a man's fire! No gas, no paper...just wood and flame.
Phil is quick to start working on the fire.

IT'S ALIVE!!!

It's growing at an exponential rate!

Wendy and Lorinda seem to be quite happy with the fire man has created.

The fire is a blazing!

Tadaa! Phil is enjoying his manly fire. This night was awesome! It involed some good times at the Toews residence followed by some axe throwing and fire fighters later in the evening.

My Christmas Dinner 05

Since I don't have any close family here in the valley, I decided to have my own little Christmas dinner. I was invited out to a few dinners, but I had not actually cooked something real in a while, so I figured that it was about time. However, I was blessed enough to have my close friend Tugrul out to enjoy an intimate candlelight dinner with Spanish guitar music playing in the background.
"Welcome to my humble abode. Please sit, dinner is almost ready."

The "before" shot.

I kind of wish that I had gotten a picture of my bird before we mangled it.

These were uber easy to make and will taste great!

I know, it isn't Turkish food, but atleast it's a turkey.

The finished product!

Christmas dinner a la J Todd. Bon appetit!

InsideOut Night 05, Panel Discussion

This was a good night. Cam brought a panel of people, young, older, and old to share with us the wisdom that they had about dating and marriage. I enjoyed hearing what they had to say. This was definetly one of my favorite InsideOut nights. (BTW, InsideOut is the college and career group at my church, Central Heights, here in Abbotsford. Its ages 18-24, so if your not commin out and your somewhere in that age range... I hope that you check it out!)
A bunch of InsideOut peeps chillaxing.

For the life of me I can't remember what we were watching on the big screen that night.

Here Cam is introducing the panel of wisdom givers.

Jigga Dave...he was one of the panel members.

InsideOut Retreat, Hope 05

I think this was in the fall of 05 sometime. It was an InsideOut retreat in Hope for a weekend. It was a good time. We had some quiet time, some group games and drama, and then we had some lessions about love languages.
Some swinging action.

Joel and his woman.

Marty is laying something very intelligent down...maybe its astrophysics, or politics...i can't remember.

InsideOut Stanley Park Christmas Lights Night 05

So during a leadership meeting to plan what we would do for the winter at InsideOut (my college and career group at CHC) we decided that we would take the group to Stanley Park for the Christmas lights display put on by the Vancouver Fire Department. It is one of my favorite Christmas traditions. So here are some pictures of our evening.

Dan is freakin excited about the Stanley Park Christmas lights display!

One of the first things we see as we enter the park.

Ladies and gentlemen...Ian Morris. (golf clap heard in background)

Festive patriotism.

Colin just cracked a joke...now only if I could remember whether or not it was any good.
